About

Univocity is a narrative-driven cyberpunk story where choices matter little because there’s only one path to follow. You play as Max, a fugitive planning to destroy a tech giant’s city with an EMP, but things change when Nina, an employee of the same corporation, appears. The game unfolds through dense dialogue and monologues that explore themes of control, rebellion, and personal cost. Set in a neon-drenched metropolis owned by a monopoly, the presentation leans into synthwave visuals and a moody soundtrack to build tension. Gameplay is purely about absorbing the script, which runs about three hours, with minimal interactivity beyond scene transitions. The game’s strength lies in its moral gray areas and the friction between its two leads. Max and Nina represent opposing ends of the same system, and their debate over ethics and survival feels sharp, if familiar. While the story doesn’t break new ground, the pacing and dialogue keep it engaging. With a 78% on Steam from early access players, Univocity appeals to fans of cerebral sci-fi with a focus on character dynamics. The soundtrack and art style earn praise, though some call the lack of branching narratives a missed opportunity. Launching in April 2025, it’s a compact but memorable entry in the visual novel space.
