UniWar S is a fixed shooter from the early 1980s where you pilot a yellow ship across the bottom of the screen, using a two-way joystick to dodge and a single button to fire. Each stage cycles through formations of enemies like Super Mosquitoes, Hovering Attackers, and Demon Flies, with point values increasing as you progress. Later stages introduce Spy Aliens that drop from killed enemies, forcing you to rotate your ship to shoot them. The final stage’s Rolling Fires also spawn these threats, and a hidden Killer King must be destroyed to clear them all. The cycle repeats after four stages, with difficulty scaling as you push further. Built on Namco’s Galaxian hardware, this Irem release blends simple controls with escalating tension. Two-player co-op adds a layer of coordination, though the real challenge lies in mastering the timing to avoid backstabbing Spy Aliens.
