UnMetal: UnDeluxe Edition is a 2D stealth action game where you play a bumbling everyman stuck in a military prison. Jesse Fox isn’t a hero, just a guy who got the wrong coffee order and now has to escape a high-security base. The gameplay mixes sneaking, improvisation, and absurd violence. Use duct tape, office supplies, and whatever you can MacGyver to avoid guards, set off explosives, and shout sarcastic one-liners. The tone leans into self-aware jokes and chaotic set pieces, with combat that feels more slapstick than serious. The UnDeluxe Edition adds the full game plus a 22-track synthwave soundtrack that’s become a fan favorite. Community reviews on Steam average 4.5/5, praising the witty dialogue and inventive level design. What sets it apart is the balance between stealth and comedy, like dodging lasers while quipping about bad management. The art style and retro references nod to 90s action movies without taking itself too seriously. Short levels keep the pacing brisk, and the randomized elements mean no two escapes feel the same.
You play as Jesse Fox who finds himself imprisoned in a covert military base where he was arrested for a crime he didn't commit. Jesse must now escape using his dry wits, quick words, improvised skills, arsenal of warfare, violent explosives, MacGuyvered gadgets, and an elaborate explanation of how it all went down. If that all fails, he'll use his fists.
