U.P.P. flips the puzzle-fighting formula on its head. Instead of dropping pieces from the top, you guide rising gem stacks from the bottom. Match three of the same color in any direction to clear them and build charge for Soul Gauge attacks. Each of the eight fighters has three special moves that let you disrupt opponents or boost your own board. The faster you chain clears, the more powerful your strikes become. Originally released in 1998, this PlayStation-era title still holds up for quick multiplayer brawls. Split-screen and local multiplayer let two players clash head-to-head. With its blend of reflexes and strategy, U.P.P. carved a niche in puzzle gaming. The PlayStation 3 and Vita ports keep the core gameplay intact, proving that some retro mechanics still feel fresh.
