Uppers is a chaotic brawler where you switch between a cast of fighters to take down waves of enemies. Each of the seven Acts throws you into increasingly wild scenarios filled with melee combat and over-the-top moves. The game leans into its frenetic energy with fast combos and environmental hazards letting you replay each section on higher difficulties for added challenge. A bonus character from the Senran Kagura series adds a familiar face for fans of that universe. The game’s appeal lies in its relentless action and the chance to tackle each Act multiple times. With no online features or co-op it’s a solo grind through escalating chaos. Reviews from 2016 highlight the fun of mastering its systems though some found the difficulty spikes abrupt. The PlayStation Vita port lets you take the mayhem on the go but performance issues on that platform drew some complaints.
