Vail is a fast paced VR shooter that mixes base building with chaotic gunplay. You pick a side in a war between Earthbound colonists and orbital refugees fighting over data stored in ancient nodes. Use motion controls to snap down turrets and walls between firefights. The map shifts constantly as both teams push to control zones and destroy objectives. Teamwork matters but so does your ability to dodge and shoot in 3D space. The game stands out for its tight balance between strategy and action. Leaderboards show steady climb in player count since launch. SteamVR and Meta Quest 2 versions offer similar core loops but different control feels. February 2024 release means the community is still finding optimal tactics. Expect chaotic fun more than deep lore delivery.

Storyline

On a blighted Earth, the claim to the human legacy is diverging. Many have chosen to move to the colonies orbiting Earth, while those left behind swore to rebuild civilization under REYAB Corporation’s protection. The Colonists believe in a future in the cosmos, but they must return to Earth to retrieve sensitive data from the Artifact nodes protected by the REYAB who fight to maintain power over the populace. As the war between these factions evolves, humanity’s future remains uncertain…
