About

Valkyria Revolution: Limited Edition is a strategy RPG that swaps traditional turn-based battles for a real-time system layered with tactical depth. You lead the Vanargand, a group of ragnite-powered soldiers, as they fight the Ruzi Empire in a war-torn industrial fantasy world. Combat blends quick reflexes with positioning and resource management, as you juggle mana weapons, alchemical spells, and unit abilities to survive brutal skirmishes. The story follows Princess Ophelia and her conflicted commander Amleth, whose hidden motives complicate their mission to liberate Jutland. A framing device involving a student researching historical "traitors" weaves flashbacks into the narrative, adding layers to the conflict. This entry stands out for its polished combat hybrid, which keeps action fluid without sacrificing strategic planning. The hand-painted art style gives the world a distinct visual flair, while Yasunori Mitsuda’s soundtrack elevates every battle and quiet moment. The Limited Edition bundles a physical CD of 12 tracks, a nice touch for fans. English dub and sub options expand accessibility, and the game’s morally gray characters and political twists keep the story engaging. With 30+ hours of campaign content and a rewarding upgrade system, it’s a solid pick for strategy enthusiasts.

Storyline

The story of Valkyria Revolution is told in medias res as a Jutland student working on a paper about "The Five Traitors" seeks to learn more about their history and the war between Jutland and the Ruzi Empire. His teacher, Richelle, frequently interrupts the game to elaborate on certain points within the story as told to her by her great-great-grandmother, who was a teacher to the Jutish princess at the time. The small country of Jutland was economically blockaded by Ruzhien, a powerful empire that expanded its territory and achieved rapid industrial development after discovering the azure mineral Ragnite, which serves both as an energy source and a catalyst for alchemic development. Ten years prior to the war, in the land of Molda, an orphanage was burned down by the Ruzi Emperor Klaudiusz and his four Grand Generals as they were visiting nearby Valkyria ruins. The men also kidnapped Maria, the caretaker at the orphanage. Only five orphans survived, having been away from the orphanage at the time: Amleth Grønkjær, Basil Sabancci, Fritte Eriksen, Solomon Kahlenberg and Violette Szand. The five secretly plotted to kill Klaudiusz and attempt to find Maria.
