Vampire Knight DS adapts the shoujo anime and manga into a visual novel style adventure. You navigate the story of Yuki Cross a student caught between warring vampire factions and a reluctant hero. The game follows her tense relationships with Zero a conflicted vampire hunter and Kaname a powerful vampire with hidden motives. Gameplay blends dialogue choices character interaction and mini games to manage social bonds. Your decisions shape the narrative as you uncover secrets about Yuki's past and the dark forces at Cross Academy. The game leans heavily into its source material with detailed character designs and a branching script that offers multiple endings. Fans of the series will recognize key plot points and relationships though newcomers might find the dense backstory challenging. With over 50 hours of playtime reported by players the story emphasizes moral dilemmas and emotional stakes. While the DS touch screen adds minor interactivity the core experience remains dialogue driven with a focus on romance and mystery.
Yuki Cross's earliest memory is of being attacked by a vampire and saved by Kaname Kuran, also a vampire. Ten years later, Yuki and a vampire hunter, Zero Kiryu attend Cross Academy as school guardians protecting the "Day Class" and the "Night Class" from each other to keep vampires secret. The story follows Yuki's discovery that her childhood friend, Zero, has spent the last four years trying to fight his transformation into a vampire, and he has finally succumbed. Yuki struggles to help Zero fight his bloodlust and to recover her own lost memories, while suspecting that Kaname knows more than he is saying.
