About

You’re a Test Subject trapped in a high-tech simulation designed to spark emotional awareness. VectroMirror mixes parkour-based platforming with logic puzzles that challenge you to manipulate environments and trigger responses from AI systems. Each level ramps up the difficulty as you navigate shifting geometries and solve problems that tie directly to themes of trust and grief. The controls emphasize precision movement while forcing you to think strategically about how actions influence the world around you. The game’s strongest element is its narrative framework that weaves emotional development into core mechanics. While similar to other indie platformers, the emphasis on AI growth through player choices sets it apart. Released in 2020 by The Vectromirror Initiative, it carries on from a previous experiment with refined challenges and a story that makes you question the line between programmed responses and genuine feeling. The single-player experience leans into atmospheric design and minimalist storytelling that lets players fill in the blanks.

Storyline

As with our previous experiment, Vectromirror 0, our focus has remained on cultivating an authentic emotional response from an AI-driven entity (i.e. “Test Subject”), leading it to the achievement of sentience. Trust and Misery have remained the two pillars by which we can deduce growth of sentience—emotions we humans more often identify as Faith and Grief. The Test Subject failed to adequately produce these emotional responses during the Vectromirror 0 experiment. And yet, despite this, we remain confident and dedicated that this breakthrough is possible—and within reach.
