Vertical Kingdom is a puzzle-strategy game where you construct upward to survive in a shattered world. Using a card-based system, you place platforms and structures to create habitable spaces while managing scarce resources. Each run involves planning expeditions to gather materials, balancing risk and reward as randomized events and terrain shifts force you to adapt your designs on the fly. What sets it apart is the clever fusion of deck-building and urban planning. Every decision impacts future missions, creating a feedback loop between exploration and development. With its focus on vertical space, the game challenges spatial reasoning in a way few strategy games do. Launching on PC and Switch in April 2024, it’s a compact but deep take on survival and strategy.

Storyline

Vertical Kingdom is set in a world devastated by a war that lasted for an entire generation. The once great Empire is in shambles and it's up to the Great Architect to rebuild toward its former glory brick by brick. Travel the land, embark on randomized, roguelite-style expeditions, and build new cities with a fresh card-based building system combined with an intricate resource economy.
