About

Video World casts you as Casper, a teen trying to boost his video store job with Halloween magic. Using a chatty pumpkin named Jill'o Lantern, you cast spells and manipulate synth-pop tracks to transform the shop into a spooky spectacle. Each level blends puzzle solving with music editing, letting you tweak song segments to animate decorations and cheer up customers. The gameplay loops around simple drag-and-drop mechanics paired with retro synth beats. This quirky project ties directly to Monster Mansion’s EP of the same name, with every track in the game pulled from the artist’s discography. The charm comes from its niche setting and the way music actively shapes the environment. PC Switch and Mac players got it in early 2021, and while it’s short, around three hours, its oddball vibe sticks around longer. The soundtrack alone makes it a curiosity for fans of synth revivalists.

Storyline

Video World follows teenage video-store employee Casper, who has been tasked with decorating the store for a Halloween sale event. After encountering a magical talking pumpkin - Jill'o Lantern - and desperate to get a promotion, he enlists JIll's help to use magic and music to turn the store into a Halloween wonderland.
