Virtual Bomberman was meant to be the next stop for Bomber after saving the Nebula. Players would have faced God Bomber, a mysterious warrior with a sad look in his eyes who challenged the hero. This arcade title planned to use the Virtual Boy's 3D display to handle maze battles where you place bombs to clear paths and defeat enemies. Hudson Soft scheduled a February 29th release date in 1996, but the project never launched. It remains one of the few Bomberman entries that players could not actually play on their consoles. The lack of community data makes this title a ghost in the series rather than a benchmark for quality. Since no one played it, we have no ratings to share or gameplay quirks to highlight. The story hints at complex lore involving God Bomber's motives and deep sadness, yet these elements exist only on paper. Fans often wonder what the game would have looked like if it had arrived. It stands as a historical footnote about the Virtual Boy library instead of a playable experience.
After Bomber Nebula was saved in the previous production, Bomberman has taken a brief rest. However, the mysterious warrior God Bomber suddenly appears. Is he an enemy or a friend? The ultimate beast machine god God Bomber offers a challenge, but with a terribly deep sadness in his eyes, and it is not clear why. While mysteries remain, now, again, a battle begins.
