Vitamin X is a story-driven role-playing game where you play Minami Yuuri, a teacher at a Tokyo academy tasked with reforming a notorious senior class. Over the course of a school year, you navigate lessons, student interactions, and personal struggles to help misfit students find their paths. The game blends classroom management with relationship-building, using dialogue choices to shape outcomes. Expect a mix of humor, drama, and slice-of-life moments as you balance teaching responsibilities with the chaotic energy of your students. The game stands out for its character-driven narrative and the quirky, often absurd personalities of Class X. While not graphically ambitious by modern standards, its charm comes from its focus on human connections and the evolving dynamic between teacher and students. With a runtime of around 20 hours, it’s a niche title that fans of slow-burn stories and educational settings might appreciate. Its 2007 release and limited Western exposure make it a curiosity for collectors of older Japanese RPGs.
The game is set at Seitei Gakuen, an elite private academy that teaches every level from kindergarten until college in Tokyo. Minami Yuuri is starting her second year of teaching here, and she is now moving up from teaching middle school students to the assignment she had sought after: grammar for high school students. Unfortunately, she gets assigned to "Class X," an infamous group of seniors; it is said that all of their previous teachers have retired due to ulcers or neurosis. Minami must try to reach out to these students and get them into college.
