Viva Soccer is a soccer simulation game that lets you manage and play as teams from World Cup qualifiers dating back to 1958. Choose from six different soccer federations, each with dozens of authentic squads, and control over 16,000 real-life players. The game offers four distinct play modes including a World Cup history replay mode. Up to four players can join in on the same system for local matches. The game’s library of licensed teams and players was unusually deep for 1998, featuring over 1,000 squads with detailed rosters. While the controls and physics feel dated by modern standards, the ability to relive classic World Cup moments and the strong local multiplayer remain highlights. Available on PC, PlayStation, and Dreamcast, it was one of the few soccer titles of its era to offer such wide platform support.
