Volcan Defend the Tower is a third person shooter with strategy elements set in a sci-fi open world. You control Sollum, a Vanguard soldier defending Volcan Towers from the Ganthar alien race while exploring a reclaimed Earth. The planet’s restored nature hides dangers as gas-wielding enemies attack your base. Combat mixes ranged firefights with turret management and melee strikes. A teleport system lets you fast travel between the tower and exploration zones, where you scavenge upgrades and uncover story fragments about a forgotten colonization mission. The game emphasizes variety in both combat and progression. Over 30 character and turret abilities let you customize defenses, while each Act introduces unique boss encounters. Environmental decay and purification visuals show the towers’ impact in real time. Built with Unreal Engine 4, the world feels dense but lacks polished polish in some areas, with a small community but dedicated solo development roots. The mix of tower defense and character-driven action creates a niche but engaging loop for players who enjoy tactical resource management and sci-fi survival scenarios.

Storyline

Earth was left behind due to many human actions that eventually exhausted all-natural resources. Thousands of years later, Humanity returned to its home planet to colonize it. The Vanguard was called by Humanity's commanders to start a colonization mission. You play as Sollum, one of the Vanguard soldiers, who eventually woke from a cryogenic sleep without memories of what happened during the colonization process. Your objectives are simple: defend the Volcan Towers, survive the Ganthar sieges to your base, and recall your past events by exploring the dangerous Waipoua forest.
