Wacktory is a chaotic co-op simulator where two players manage a malfunctioning chicken farm in VR or on PC. One player controls a chicken, flapping and dodging obstacles while laying eggs. The other directs a robotic arm, collecting eggs before they rot or get smashed. The screen constantly threatens to explode with color-coded hazards, timers, and absurd objectives. Communication is key as both players scramble to hit targets and avoid system meltdowns. Developed by a student team at UC Santa Cruz, the game won Best In Show at their 2019 showcase. Its frantic pace and physics-based humor have earned a 78 on Metacritic from early reviews. The couch co-op mode and intentionally goofy design make it a standout for short, explosive sessions. The VR version amplifies the mayhem with motion controls, though the PC version remains accessible for larger groups.
