About

Warau Warawau is a freeware adventure RPG crafted in RPG Maker 2000 by Kanashimi Hocchikisu. It follows Warawau, a spoiled child who strays into the bizarre World of Laughter after a run-in with her maid. The game weaves characters from the Towelket series with nods to Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, guiding players through surreal locales with turn-based battles and narrative-driven exploration. Its charm lies in offbeat humor and a meandering plot that balances whimsy with oddball moments. The game stands out for its atmospheric music by Hirokazu Akiyama, a departure from the public domain tracks used in earlier Towelket titles. While its Japanese fanbase keeps it alive as a cult favorite, the surreal tone and occasional unsettling imagery may not appeal to all. A community-led translation effort hints at broader accessibility in the works. Short and quirky, it’s a niche experience for those curious about indie RPG oddities.
