Wario World flips the script on the usual hero vibe by making you a greedy treasure hunter with a mess of problems. A cursed gem in Wario's hoard turns his loot into hostile monsters forcing him to navigate a twisted version of his own lair. The gameplay mixes platforming with beat 'em up brawling letting you punch kick and suck up coins like a grumpy vacuum. You’ll grapple 3D spheres to reach boss fights bash through environments to find secret areas and deal with hordes of enemies in chaotic encounters. The controls emphasize quick movement and creative use of Wario’s grab and inhale abilities making combat feel punchy and tactile. This 2003 GameCube title from Treasure has a cult following for its over-the-top energy and inventive level design. While not as technically polished as later 3D platformers it leans into its quirky charm with goofy monster designs and a soundtrack that cranks the absurdity. The single-player campaign is short but packed with optional challenges and hidden items to chase. Fans of old-school action games with humor might enjoy the 40-minute runtime which still holds up for its brisk pacing and inventive mechanics.
