Warlords drops you into a four-player battle where you and up to three opponents blast a fiery ball at brick-fortressed corners. The goal is to outlast others by smashing blocks while dodging their attacks. Using spinners to control movement, you’ll navigate mirrored 3D castle levels in the upright version or colorful free-for-all chaos in the cocktail table setup. The action loops between defense and aggression as forts crumble and the stakes rise. What sets Warlords apart is its dual hardware designs. The upright model uses a mirror to reflect gameplay onto a castle backdrop, creating a pseudo-3D illusion with monochrome visuals. The cocktail table version adds color and supports all four players at once, turning matches into frantic scrambles. While the 1980 release date and simple mechanics might feel dated, the aggressive multiplayer showdowns and tactile spinner controls still feel distinct. Casual fans of retro arcade battles might find its chaotic charm holds up.
