Watchmen: The End Is Nigh Part 2 follows Rorschach and Nite Owl in the summer of 1977 as they fight ahead of the Keene Act. Players switch between the two characters in a beat 'em up with some oddball sports mini-games. Combat mixes button-mashing brawls with timed attacks and dodge rolls. The story mode leans into the source material's darker themes but keeps the gameplay simple and action-focused. Co-op lets two play together in most levels though coordination helps. The game splits player opinions but holds a 6.8 on Metacritic. Some praise the tight controls and co-op moments while others call the sports sections jarring. The 2009 release added new story beats to the original's timeline but didn't match its critical reception. Still it remains a decent pick for fans of the first game or those who want to see how Rorschach's end plays out. The mix of brutal fights and quirky mini-games keeps things from getting too grim.
