Western Gun

Western Gun is a two-player arcade shooter where you and an opponent take turns as cowboys in a tense showdown. Each round, you crouch behind a saloon counter and wait for a draw button to appear on screen. Pressing it quickly fires a shot at your rival. If you land a hit before they do, you win the round and earn a point. Matches reset to let you keep trying for more points. The simplicity is deceptive, timing and reflexes determine every duel. This game holds historic weight as one of the earliest titles to feature player versus player combat in a video game format. It also introduced microprocessor technology to arcades through its North American release. Over 8000 cabinets found their way into U.S. arcades alone by 1976. While not the most complex experience, its competitive core and pioneering design make it worth remembering for arcade purists and pinball-pong historians.
