You play as a detective chasing Carmen Sandiego’s henchmen across American cities. Each criminal has snatched a piece of history, and you must track them down using clues and basic logic. The puzzles often feel simplistic, focusing on matching items to locations rather than clever deduction. Exploration happens through static screens, with little variation between destinations. Community feedback is mixed, with one 2.0/10 review criticizing the puzzles as underdeveloped and the pacing as sluggish. The game’s educational angle, learning about U.S. landmarks and history, is present but buried under repetitive gameplay. Despite its 1980s educational software roots, it lacks the polish of later entries in the franchise. Still, some players appreciate the straightforward challenge and the chance to explore a digitized version of the country.

Total waste of time. Puzzles are dumber than a senators tweet thread and the story moves slower than a family road trip in July. If Carmen Sandiego was this boring in person, no wonder she’s always on the run.
