About Wicked Seed

Wicked Seed is a modern horror RPG from Dead Right Games that dropped on PC in January 2026. It stars Ella, a PI tracking her missing brother through an evacuated town overrun by creepy creatures. The game blends real-time dodging and parrying with turn-based strategy attacks, creating a combat system that’s fast but still requires planning. You’ll explore a story about corporate secrets and body horror while unlocking 50 costumes and gear. It’s not just about fighting, hidden paths and puzzles add layers. If you like tactical horror with a side of customization, this one’s got a tense vibe and a plot that leans into family drama gone sideways.

Gameplay

Combat in Wicked Seed hinges on timing. You dodge and parry in real time, then pause to pick from a grid of attacks that cost action points. Miss a window to strike and you’ll regret it, enemies hit hard. Exploration is key: 40% of players spend over 10 hours finding optional puzzles and loot. Each weapon and accessory changes playstyle, but the real hook is the costumes, which unlock via story progress or collectibles. Sessions usually last 2, 4 hours, with save points every 10 minutes. You’ll spend half your time fighting, a third solving environmental puzzles, and the rest just wondering what’s in the next room. The controls are responsive but the UI feels cluttered, which can slow down decision-making during fights.

What Players Think

Wicked Seed has a 4.2/5 rating from 23,000 PlayPile users, with 78% completing the story. Average playtime is 12 hours, though 15% of players hit 20+ hours chasing 100% completion. The community moods are split: 45% call it tense, 30% curious, but 15% find it repetitive. Its 50 achievements include “Collect all 100 seeds” and “Finish the game in under 8 hours,” which only 3% have. Reviews praise the story (“brother subplot is killer”) but 30% gripe about combat’s learning curve. The most common complaint? “Enemies phase through walls in Chapter 4.” Still, 68% say the customization system is worth the price.

PlayPile's Take

Wicked Seed is a solid $29.99 pick for RPG fans who like mixing strategy with horror. The hybrid combat is fresh but has a 72-hour grind to master. If you enjoy deep customization and don’t mind a slower start, the story’s twists justify the time. Skip it if you hate turn-based mechanics or want something shorter, this isn’t a quick scare. With 50+ achievements and a completion rate that beats most 2026 releases, it’s a mid-tier horror RPG that’s worth it if you’ve got patience.
