Winter Sports: The Ultimate Challenge throws you into 15 events across 9 winter disciplines from skiing to curling. Race against the clock in time trials or battle opponents in head-to-head matches. The career mode strings together 42 challenges to unlock new tracks and gear. Split-screen lets up to four players jostle for position on the same couch. Commentary and sound effects pump up the atmosphere without overdoing it. The split-screen mode stays sharp even with multiple players on screen. Released in late 2007 it ran on PS2 Wii and PC. While not graphically heavy it focuses on tight controls and varied event types. The Olympic-style medal ceremonies add a touch of ceremony to the chaos.
