Wintersport is a winter sports game that lets you tackle ski jumping and slalom challenges. You control a competitor in either event choosing when to leap or adjust your path. The single player mode focuses on personal bests while multiplayer lets you race or compete head to head. Simple controls and straightforward objectives make it easy to jump into but tricky to master. Released in 1979 this is one of the earliest examples of sports gaming on home systems. Its pixelated tracks and basic physics feel quaint by modern standards but the direct challenge of timing jumps and navigating slopes holds up. With no frills or complex systems it’s a pure test of reflexes that works best with a friend.
