Wordtris is a puzzle game where players arrange falling letters to form valid words. Each placed letter builds toward a word which clears from the board when completed. Bombs drop intermittently offering tools to remove single letters or entire blocks. Scoring increases with longer words while avoiding a full screen. Progression comes from consecutive clears without overflowing the play area advancing to faster paced levels. Released in 1992 this title merged wordplay with block stacking mechanics before such hybrids became common. Available on Mac SNES and DOS it reached multiple early 90s audiences. While simple by modern standards its dual focus on vocabulary and quick thinking created a distinct challenge. Community archives note its reputation as a clever diversion though not as widely remembered as contemporaries.
