About

XIII: Limited Edition is a first-person shooter where you play as a soldier with no memory and a tattoo that reads XIII. You start on a desolate beach with nothing but a key and a vague sense of being framed for the president’s murder. The game pushes you through a linear 34-level campaign filled with gunfights, interrogations, and cryptic clues about your past. Combat is straightforward, pistol-whipping enemies, sniping targets, and picking up whatever weapon is handy. The story unfolds in chunks, blending conspiracy theories and government secrets as you piece together your role in the assassination. The remake updates the 2003 original with sharper visuals and smoother controls but retains its dated dialogue and pacing. It has a small but vocal fanbase who appreciate the slow-burn mystery and over-the-top action sequences. Reviews from the 2020 release were mixed, with some praising the retro vibe and others calling it sluggish. The campaign takes about 15, 20 hours, offering a steady mix of shootouts and stealth sections. It’s a throwback experience for those who miss early-2000s spy thrillers with a video game twist.

Storyline

The country is still in shock after the assassination of President Sheridan. You wake up wounded, without any memory, on a deserted beach of the west coast. The only clues to your identity are the number XIII tattooed near your collarbone and a locker key. Despite your amnesia, you discover that you have the reflexes of a fully trained professional fighter. You take the road seeking for pieces of your past, finding out that you played a role in the murder of the President of the United States and uncovering the most horrific conspiracy in the entire history of the country.
