Xotic throws you into a chaotic first-person shooter where your main goals are racking up points by blasting enemies triggering chain explosions and hunting for hidden power-ups. You control a living weapon called the Macroterra a creature that attaches to your arm and helps you fight. The planet you're on is overrun by evil forces and your job is to clear them out while restoring life through some weird sci-fi planting thing. The gameplay is all about fast action and scoring as high as possible with multipliers that kick in when you chain together big kills. What makes Xotic stick out is its quirky creature companion and the focus on high-score chasing. The Macroterra isn't just a sidekick, it's part of your attack moves letting you unleash special abilities that turn the tide in tough spots. While it came out in 2011 and might have a retro look by today's standards the game's over-the-top action and addictive scoring system still have a cult following. If you're into old-school arcade vibes with a sci-fi twist this one’s a blast.
