Ylands lets you build large islands, craft vehicles, and design custom game modes in a persistent open world. The single-player mode focuses on creative construction and resource management while co-op and multiplayer let groups collaborate or compete. A built-in level editor allows players to tweak physics, add scripts, and share scenarios online making the game as much about playing as it is about designing. Made by Bohemia Interactive the studio behind ARMA and DayZ this 2017 release has maintained a steady community through regular updates. Players often highlight its flexibility letting you focus on base-building chaotic racing or full-fledged RPGs. While not a traditional simulator it offers tools to shape nearly every aspect of the environment. Runs on PC and remains free to play with optional paid expansions.
