You collect capsule creatures breed them to create new hybrids and train them for chess like combat. Each match uses a grid based system where positioning and monster abilities determine the outcome. The single player mode pits you against familiar faces from the series including Yugi Seto Kaiba and Dark Yugi in a tournament style setup. This 1998 PlayStation title is the only game to feature the Capsule Monster Chess mechanic from the manga. While later titles adapted the concept it remains a direct translation of the early storyline. Storyline

Yu-Gi-Oh! Monster Capsule: Breed and Battle primarily features characters from the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga. The player raises and trains Capsule Monsters to defeat opponents in a tournament. Opponents include Yugi Mutou, Katsuya Jonouchi, Anzu Mazaki, Mokuba Kaiba, Ryo Bakura, Sugoroku Mutou, Seto Kaiba and Dark Yugi.
