"Ganryu 2: Hakuma Kojiro gives us one of the most mystifying pieces of software to hit the public domain in recent times. If it could muster even a stable 30 FPS, it would likely be a commendable arcade action adventure, featuring nice mechanics, stage variety, large bosses and pleasing graphics. Possibly, even, a highlight in its genre. As it stands, it's so confusing a technical train wreck that we can barely make sense of why it's been released in this condition. Should a patch materialise that resolves these issues entirely you can add at least three points to our current score, but at present technical problems gravely undermine the positives."

YuYu Hakusho is a 2D fighting game built around the anime’s most memorable combatants. Choose from 15 characters including Kurama and Hiei, each with distinct special moves and hyper combos. Battles unfold in fast-paced rounds with animated transitions that mirror the show’s dynamic style. The single-player mode adapts the Dark Tournament arc, while local multiplayer lets you test skills against a friend. The game sticks closely to the source material with few surprises but nails the basics. Character designs and attack animations feel true to the anime, and the roster includes popular fighters from the series. Though dated by modern standards, it remains a solid choice for fans familiar with the story. The 3DO version’s frame rate and controls hold up better than many early 90s fighters, though the lack of deeper customization or story variety limits replayability.
The game follows the story of the anime from the Dark Tournament to the battle against Sensui.
