You’re the aggressor in a city under siege. Z-Tack tasks you with attacking fortified bases buried deep in labyrinthine caverns. Use a limited number of missiles to take out hidden installations while fending off enemy defenses. The Atari 2600’s hardware keeps things simple but frantic as you navigate tight corridors and dodgy aiming mechanics. The game’s challenge comes from its picky targeting and scarce resources. It’s a relic of early 80s design, favoring quick reflexes over strategy. While not as polished as later titles, it offers a raw take on early arcade-style action. Bomb’s first release leans into the fast-paced, high-risk gameplay that defined the era’s best adventure games.
