Zoids VS II is a mecha-based fighting game for Nintendo GameCube that pits customizable robot pilots against each other in arena battles. Players select from over 50 characters and 60 Zoids, using a mix of weapons, parts, and close-range "fist mode" attacks to outmaneuver opponents. The game adds new stages, a revised interface, and optional unlockables including hidden Zoids. Progression relies on mastering control schemes and adapting strategies to different robot types. A standout feature is the ability to carry over data from the first Zoids VS game to access the rare Shield Liger DCS-J. The English version Battle Legends rebrands character names with inconsistencies like "Brad" becoming "Blood" and "Thomas" as "Thoma." While the translation is mostly complete, errors pop up. With no online mode but deep local multiplayer, it leans into classic arcade-style showdowns. The 2003 release remains a niche pick for mecha fans.
