Zona 0 is a high-stakes racing game where players battle to be the last one standing. Inspired by the light-cycle duels from TRON, you control a bike that leaves a deadly trail. The goal is to force opponents into crashing by herding them into your wake while avoiding their paths. The game uses an isometric view with smooth scrolling for its time, letting you maneuver in tight, strategic patterns. Released in 1991 for DOS and 8-bit systems, it’s a single-player showdown that blends reflexes with tactical positioning. The game’s sharp focus on aggressive play stands out, especially given its technical constraints. Developed during Spain’s fading software golden age, it squeezed dynamic action from limited hardware. Though it nearly secured an official TRON license, it ultimately didn’t receive one. The lone community vote labels it intense, and it’s easy to see why, every race feels like a no-holds-barred survival challenge. A relic of early ’90s arcade-style design, it’s brief but punishing.
One more year a new edition of the toughest competition of all was about to be held. The participants had set up their machines ready to participate in an all-out fight to reach ZONA 0. Very few would finally achieve it and only one of them could return.
