Zoocube challenges players to solve puzzles in three dimensions by manipulating cube-shaped blocks to free animals trapped in bizarre scientific experiments. Each level requires rotating and arranging pieces to match animal shapes, with the goal of restoring them to normal and guiding them to a flying ark. The single-player campaign offers a series of increasingly complex challenges while split-screen multiplayer lets two players team up or compete against each other. The game’s emphasis on cooperative play stood out for its time particularly with its local split-screen mode which allowed friends to share a screen and work together. Released in 2002 it joined a wave of puzzle titles that embraced creative mechanics but carved its own niche with its tactile 3D block manipulation. Available on PC PlayStation 2 and GameCube it remains a curiosity for fans of early 2000s puzzle games.
