Batuhan Gündüz is the name of a sole developer and publisher based in Istanbul, Turkey. He also founded indie game studio, Dead Witness Studio, at the same time as he started development on his first video game, "Y. Village - The Visitors" in January 2023. Dead Witness Studio is headquartered in USA. He is a prolific social media creator since June 2014 with tens of thousands of subscribers on his YouTube and Instagram channels. He has editing experience in media creation and film direction with various companies, including CMC Media in Belgium and Play Now Media. He was director and screenwriter for a 2020 Turkish film, "Y. If you’re looking for an unforgettable gaming experience, you’re in the right place. * About: Who is Batuhan Gündüz? I started with cinema and continued with horror games. The film Y. Köyü: Ye’cüc Me’cüc, which I wrote and directed, brought a dark story inspired by Turkish village legends to the big screen. But this project was more than just a movie — it was the first step that laid the foundation for the horror games I develop today. The atmosphere and storytelling of the film became the main inspiration for my first game, Y. Village – The Visitors, released on Steam in 2023. The game quickly stood out as one of the notable titles in the horror genre. Its successor, Apartment No 129, expanded this universe and dragged players into a deeper psychological thriller. I’m currently working on new projects — all rooted in real events and folk tales, with a strong focus on cinematic storytelling in the horror genre. For me, game development isn’t just about writing code. It’s about building a dark atmosphere, pulling the player into a story, and creating an experience that leaves a lasting mark.
