Cat Daddy Games at a Glance

Cat Daddy Games operates out of Kirkland, Washington and has been active since 1996. The studio developed 24 titles on PlayPile but never published a game under its own name. Its catalog spans three decades with most work appearing in the 2000s when they released 17 games. Output dropped significantly in the 2010s to just six releases and slowed further in the 2020s with only one title so far. This decline suggests a shift away from the high-volume development seen earlier in their career. The company focuses heavily on sports, simulator, and strategy genres. Sports titles make up ten of their games while simulators account for eight. They also explore strategy, arcade, and turn-based strategy formats. Their platform reach is strongest on PC with fifteen releases. Mobile platforms follow with six iOS games and four Android titles. The studio also ventured into console gaming with three Wii games and single releases for PlayStation VR, SteamVR, Oculus Rift, Xbox, and Nintendo DS. Quality trends show a mixed reception across their work. Seven of their 24 games have ratings on PlayPile, yielding an average score of 60.1 out of 100. Three titles fall into the good range between 60 and 79 points. Four others sit in the mixed category between 40 and 59 points. No games reached the great threshold of 80 or higher, though none scored below 40 either. NHL Supercard stands out as their highest-rated game with a score of 78 from 2015. WWE SuperCard followed at 68.3 in 2014. Carnival Games VR earned 63.3 in 2016, while Skateboard Park Tycoon scored 59.5 back in 2001. Recent activity includes NFL 2K Playmakers released in April 2024. The studio also produced Mafia III: Rivals and Evolve Hunters Quest around 2015 to 2016. Early success came from their Carnival series which shipped over 7 million copies on Wii. They later moved toward mobile with titles like Herd, Herd, Herd and Comedy Central's Indecision Game. The studio remains a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive Software as they continue to release content across various platforms.
