Ezone operates as a small development team founded in 1996 by brothers Jamie and Simon Edis. While they started in San Francisco, the company now runs out of Perth, Western Australia. They remain a two-person operation that has shifted focus from their early web game days to creating custom titles for clients. Their catalog on PlayPile contains only ten entries, with nine games listed under their developer credit and five under publisher. This low number reflects a significant drop in output over the last two decades. Their work spans three decades, but the volume of releases changed drastically over time. In the 1990s, they released two games, and the 2000s saw six titles. The 2010s dropped to just one release, and the 2020s also show only a single entry. Recent activity includes Car Quest in 2018 and Sharks in July 2024. Older titles like Turkey Fling and Slingoween appeared in late 2007. Their genre focus is broad but leans heavily toward Arcade, Adventure, and Puzzle games, with three titles in each of those categories. They also have entries in Platform, Racing, Indie, Strategy, and Simulator genres. Platform support varies widely across their small library. Five games run on web browsers, and five are available for PC on Microsoft Windows. Their later work includes support for VR headsets like SteamVR, Meta Quest 2, and Meta Quest 3, as well as ports to the Nintendo Switch and iOS. The company has a long history of licensing popular media properties. Their bio lists games based on SpongeBob Squarepants, South Park, Power Rangers, Crash Bandicoot, and Xena: Warrior Princess among many others. However, the PlayPile data does not show specific ratings for these titles, so it is impossible to determine if their recent work maintains a high quality standard or if the output has simply slowed down due to their size. The company continues to operate but produces very few new games compared to its peak in the 2000s.
