FX Interactive was a Spanish independent videogame publisher, founded in 1999 and with a strong presence in the Spanish, Italian and Latin American markets, as a publisher of third party titles localized for the territories in which it operates, and developing its own products. After the departure of Dinamic Multimedia, the Ruiz brothers (Pablo, Victor and Nacho, founders of the video game company Dinamic Software, on which Dinamic Multimedia was founded) decided to found a new company. This would be called FX Interactive (due to the usual use of the particle "FX" in the marketing of the original Dinamic games, as in "FX double load" on the game tapes) and would be founded in June 1999, in addition to the Ruiz brothers, by four other partners also from Dinamic Multimedia: Jesús Alonso (president), Carlos Abril (programming director), Pablo de la Nuez (editorial director) and Antonio Lucena (technical director). In May 2017 and after having been subject of several convictions for non-payments, the company was finally declared insolvent.
FX Interactive is a Spanish publisher that operated from 1999 until it declared insolvency in May 2017. The group formed after founders from Dinamic Multimedia left to start this new venture, with the name FX referencing marketing terms used on their previous game tapes. The company focused heavily on publishing localized third party titles for Spain, Italy, and Latin America while also developing its own products. Their catalog on PlayPile contains 11 games released between 2000 and 2021. The vast majority of this output appeared in the 2000s with eight releases, followed by two titles in the 2010s and a single entry in the 2020s. The studio has a clear focus on strategy games, which make up eight of their eleven projects. This includes seven real time strategy titles and one tactical game. They also published four simulators and two adventure games alongside smaller numbers of role-playing, puzzle, point-and-click, and sport entries. All 11 games are available on PC for Microsoft Windows, while single ports exist for iOS, Wii, and the Nintendo DS. Their publishing volume dropped significantly in later years, with only one game appearing after 2010 and just a single release in the 2020s before their closure. Quality ratings for FX Interactive show a mixed picture. They have no titles rated as great or poor, but their average score sits at 62.2 out of 100 across nine rated games. Six titles fall into the good range between 60 and 79, while three others are rated as mixed. Their highest rated game is Runaway: A Road Adventure from 2001 with a score of 76, followed closely by Tzar: The Burden of the Crown at 74.4. Later strategy entries like Imperivm III and Imperium Romanum scored between 65 and 70. Recent releases show lower performance, including Football Club Simulator - FCS which holds a score of 40. The company stopped releasing games after declaring insolvency in 2017 due to non-payment convictions.
