In-Fusio was a mobile games service provider. Founded in August 1998, it was the first to launch the concept of games for mobile phones. In January 2006 it split its games publishing and distribution divisions. One of the major franchises the company intend to make a game for was the Halo series of Microsoft, but the deal fell through and In-Fusio sued Microsoft for breach of contract, accusing it of not approving any of the mobile firm's designs. In May 2007 the company was acquired by the European mobile games company Zenops. Then in June 2008 In-Fusio was re-branded and new investments were announced, to expand its operations. The company went into administration in 2008 and on 14th August 2009 it was confirmed the company had gone into liquidation. Following that, the company IF Europe was founded based on the assets, continuing the In-Fusio brand.
In-Fusio was a French publisher and developer active from 2003 to 2008. The company holds a spot in history as the first to launch games for mobile phones after being founded in August 1998. Its catalog on PlayPile contains nine titles, with six released as a publisher and four as a developer. All these games appeared during the 2000s. The platform reach was narrow, focusing almost entirely on legacy mobile devices. Only one title showed up for Xbox. The genre list is diverse but scattered across eight different categories. Platform games make up the largest group with three entries. The remaining titles include racing, simulator, puzzle, shooter, arcade, sport, and role-playing games. Quality data comes from a single rated game on IGDB. Midtown Madness 3 from 2003 holds an average rating of 80.7 out of 100. This is the only title with a score in the great range. The company did not have other titles rated as good, mixed, or poor within this dataset. In-Fusio faced significant business challenges before its end. In January 2006, it separated its publishing and distribution divisions. The firm attempted to create a game for the Halo series but the deal collapsed. They subsequently sued Microsoft for breach of contract over design approvals. By May 2007, Zenops acquired the company. A rebranding effort followed in June 2008 along with new investment plans. Despite these efforts, In-Fusio went into administration later that year. It was confirmed to be in liquidation by August 14, 2009. Assets were used to form IF Europe, which continued the brand under new management. Recent releases listed include Sudopix from June 2008 and Nowhere from September 2007. Other notable titles from this period are Terminator: Revenge, Astérix and the Vikings, and Le Tour de France. The company produced content for a specific mobile market before its liquidation ended operations.
