Point of View was an American developer founded in Irvine, California in February 1996. The studio closed its doors in 2010 after facing financial difficulties and a lack of work following a difficult relationship with partners Blue Omega Entertainment and Codemasters. Over its fifteen year history, the company released ten games on PlayPile as a developer but never published a title under its own name. Their output was concentrated mostly in the 2000s with seven releases, two titles in the 1990s, and one game in the 2010s. The studio worked heavily with Midway Games on sports and arcade style projects like NFL Blitz, Ready 2 Rumble Boxing, and MLB Slugfest 2004. Their portfolio shows a clear preference for sports games, which make up half of their listed titles. They also developed shooters, adventure games, platformers, fighting games, and card or board game adaptations. Most of their work appeared on the PlayStation 2 with six entries, followed by four games on the Nintendo GameCube and three each for PC and Xbox. They also released titles for older systems like the Sega Genesis and newer ones like the Wii and Xbox 360 near the end of their run. Quality trends across their catalog are mixed to poor. The average rating for their six rated titles sits at 58.2 out of 100. None of their games reached the great tier, while three achieved good ratings. Two games fell into the mixed category, and one received a poor score. RedCard from 2002 was their highest rated game with a score of 78. Trigger Man came in second with 66.2, followed by Garfield: Caught in the Act at 64.1. Later releases showed a downward trend. World Championship Poker: Featuring Howard Lederer - All In received a low score of 30. The Scorpion King: Rise of the Akkadian scored just 51. Spawn: Armageddon ended up with a 60 rating. TNA Impact!: Cross the Line was their final release in June 2010 before the company dissolved.
