Renegade Kid at a Glance

Renegade Kid operated as an independent developer and publisher based in Austin, Texas from 2007 until 2017. The studio released 18 games in total during this period, acting as a developer on 14 titles and a publisher on 8. Their output was heavily concentrated in the 2010s with 14 games, compared to just two titles in the 2000s. This company built most of its catalog on Nintendo hardware, releasing 11 games for the Nintendo 3DS and 3 games each for the Wii U, Nintendo DS, and PlayStation Vita. They also targeted PC, PlayStation 4, iOS, PlayStation 3, and Xbox One with varying frequencies. The studio focused primarily on Adventure games with 10 releases, followed by Platformers and Shooters at five titles each. Their catalog also included Indie, Arcade, Puzzle, Racing, Sport, Role-playing, and Fighting genres. Quality varied significantly across their library. The average rating across 14 rated titles sits at 69.1 out of 100. Two games achieved great scores above 80, while ten others fell into the good range between 60 and 79. One title received a mixed rating, and another was rated poor. Their highest-rated work includes Mutant Mudds Deluxe from 2013 at 84, Planet Crashers from 2012 at 80, and Dementium II from 2010 at 79.5. Trends in their output show a shift in reception over time. While early entries like Moon from 2009 and the Dementium series held solid ratings, later releases struggled more often. Xeodrifter: Special Edition appeared in 2015 without a specific score listed in the data, but Dementium Remastered dropped to 42.5 that same year. ATV Renegades released in April 2017 received a low score of 30. Mutant Mudds Super Challenge from March 2016 managed a 73.7 rating, and Moon Chronicles: Episodes 2-4 scored 73. Their bio claims they create fun, high quality games, yet the data shows a mixed bag where their later years included some poorly received titles.
