Since the company's foundation in 1991, Techland has been consistently reinforcing its position in the industry and in 2000 began to conquer international markets. Initially, our activities were focused on the distribution of software in Poland. Later, towards the end of the nineties, we decided to commence the in-house production of computer software with the emphasis on video games. Currently, we create advanced high-budget games for all major platforms – the PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. The primary technology we use is our proprietary Chrome Engine®, currently at version 6, middleware, and toolset continuously developed for over 10 years now. Using this top-notch technology, we have released over 20 games, including Dead Island and Call of Juarez series. We also develop mobile games for iOS devices. Techland is a team of over two hundred dynamic people driven by ambition and creative passion. Our staff consists of highly experienced industry specialists and talented young apprentices from all fields. Every one of us perceives the electronic entertainment not only as their job but, more importantly, also as our lifetime passion and hobby. We achieve professional excellence by bringing ambitious projects to life and constant learning. Every day we push ourselves to realize our vision – deliver cutting-edge and attractive electronic entertainment. See more at: http://company.techland.pl/about, ©Techland
Techland has been active in the gaming industry since 1991 but did not begin publishing its own titles until 1998. The company started by distributing software in Poland before shifting to in-house development. Over the years they have released 33 games on PlayPile, serving as developers on 29 of them and publishers on 16. Their output has grown significantly over time. They released only two games in the 1990s. This number jumped to ten titles in the 2000s and reached fourteen releases during the 2010s. The company has only published four games so far in the 2020s. The studio focuses heavily on action-oriented genres. They have released thirteen shooters, twelve adventure games, and eleven role-playing games. Racing and simulator titles also appear frequently in their catalog with eight and six releases respectively. Their primary platform is PC Microsoft Windows which hosts 31 of their titles. They have also developed for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with ten versions each. Older consoles like the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 see fewer recent entries, though they still hold eight and seven games in the library respectively. Quality across their portfolio is generally solid but not exceptional. The average IGDB rating stands at 70 out of 100 based on eighteen rated titles. They have one great game that scored above 80. Fourteen titles fall into the good range between 60 and 79. Three games received mixed ratings between 40 and 59. There are no poor-rated games in their catalog. Their highest-rated release is Dying Light: The Following - Enhanced Edition from 2016 which holds a score of 87.5. Other well-received projects include Torment: Tides of Numenera, Call of Juarez: Bound In Blood, and Dead Island: Definitive Edition. Recent activity shows a focus on the Dying Light franchise with releases like Dying Light 2: Stay Human and its Cloud Version in early 2022. The studio announced Dying Light: The Beast for September 2025 which currently holds a score of 75.1. They also released God's Trigger: O.M.G. Edition in April 2019. Techland continues to use their proprietary Chrome Engine technology to build these titles across multiple platforms. Their output has slowed down slightly in the current decade compared to the prolific 2010s period.
