Wanako Studios Ltd. at a Glance

Wanako Studios Ltd. operated as a Chilean developer from 2004 until 2010. Founded by Esteban Sosnik, Tiburcio de la Carcova, and Wenceslao Casares in 2002, the studio initially registered in New York City before setting its headquarters in Santiago. Their output on PlayPile consists of 12 titles where they served as developers. They never published any games under their own name during this period. The company was acquired by Sierra Entertainment in 2007 and absorbed into Activision Blizzard shortly after. In 2008, Artificial Mind and Movement purchased the studio. By 2010, when that parent company became Behaviour Interactive, Wanako Studios was renamed Behaviour Santiago. The catalog shows a heavy focus on sport games with six releases. Arcade titles make up three entries, while shooters account for two. The remaining slots include a platformer, an RPG, and an adventure game. Their work targets PC and Xbox 360 users most frequently. Nine of their games appeared on Microsoft Windows, and six reached the Xbox 360. Two titles launched on PlayStation 3, and only one hit the Xbox One. The studio released ten games in the 2000s and two in the 2010s before ceasing operations under its original name. Quality scores for their five rated titles average 59.1 out of 100. This places them in the mixed category overall. They have zero great or poor rated games. Two titles earned good ratings between 60 and 79 points. Three others fell into the mixed range of 40 to 59 points. Their highest scoring release was Doritos Crash Course from December 2010, which holds a score of 75.7. Assault Heroes (2006) reached 70 points. Arkadian Warriors, 3D Ultra Minigolf Adventures 2, and the original 3D Ultra Minigolf Adventures all scored 50 points. Sealife Safari and 3D Ultra Minigolf Adventures: Lost Island lack ratings on the platform. The data suggests their later releases did not consistently outperform their earlier work, with their top two scores appearing in 2010 but the majority of their catalog remaining at a mediocre level.
