Back to the Future Part II turns Marty McFly’s time-traveling adventure into a side-scrolling beat-’em-up. You navigate five levels filled with obstacles and enemies from the film, using timed button presses to punch, kick, and dodge. The goal is simple, stop Biff Tannen from wrecking the timeline while collecting items and avoiding DeLorean malfunctions. Each stage ramps up the chaos with more foes and tight platforming sections. Released in late 1990, this game landed on nearly every major 8-bit and 16-bit system including DOS, Amiga, and Master System. While it lacks the polish of later fighting games, it’s a nostalgic relic for fans of early 90s arcade ports. The rigid controls and limited moveset make it tough, but the pixelated Biff and Doc cutscenes keep the movie’s spirit alive. Short on depth but packed with urgency, it’s a frantic test of timing for retro enthusiasts.
