Blandia is a 1992 arcade fighting game from Allumer, Ltd. It’s a direct follow-up to their 1986 title Gladiator but shifts focus to weapon-based combat. Players choose from a small cast of fighters, each armed with distinct tools like swords, chains and hammers. Matches take place in simple but varied stages where timing and strategy matter more than raw button-mashing. Single-player mode offers a straightforward challenge while local multiplayer lets friends clash head-to-head. Though it predates Street Fighter II’s influence, Blandia arrived during a shifting landscape for fighting games. Its weapon system and one-on-one structure put it in the same arena as early rivals but failed to gain lasting traction. Samurai Shodown would later redefine the genre in 1993. Still it remains a curiosity for arcade historians with its dated but functional mechanics. Released only on arcade cabinets it’s now a rare artifact of early 90s game design.
