Bleach: Heat the Soul 2 is a portable fighting game that expands on the anime/manga series’ Soul Society storylines. It offers 12 characters to play as each with their own set of battles from the Sneak Entry to the Rescue arcs. Unlike the first game’s linear plot this one shifts perspective based on your choice of fighter. Play as Ichigo to defend Rukia or take Byakuya’s side to stop her rescue. Combat mixes fast button mashing with combo timing typical of early PSP beat-’em-ups. The game’s standouts are its character-specific narratives and soundtrack.
