Blood: The Last Vampire - Last Volume is a visual novel built around full-motion video sequences. Set in a Tokyo reimagined from the original Yarudora series, it follows a high school student plagued by a mysterious voice after a subway ride. His figuring out sanity intersects with Saya, the lone vampire from prior stories. Players navigate branching dialogue and choices that shape his descent into the supernatural. The narrative leans into psychological horror and eerie atmosphere over action. The game stands out for its moody tone and ties to the broader Blood mythos. While its 2000 release dates it technically, the slow-burn mystery and unsettling vibes still resonate. With no combat or puzzles, it focuses on story and mood, appealing to fans of moody, dialogue-driven adventures. Its niche status has kept it under the radar but earned cult praise for staying true to the series’ dark essence.
Based on the manga and anime movie with the same title, this game focuses on the story set in Tokyo a couple of decades after the original series. While the anime and game stories don't have direct connection, the game setting is based on the same world as in the original series. While Saya is the protagonist of the original story, this story features a young boy who is a high-school student, as the protagonist. One day, while riding a subway, he experiences the strangest sensation... he starts hearing a demonic voice that no one else can hear. This soon starts to affect his daily life and drive him towards madness, but then Saya, the last remaining original vampire enters his life.
