Buzz Bombers is a fast-paced shooter for Intellivision where you control a bug spray can at the bottom of the screen. Swarms of bees descend diagonally, bouncing back and forth while inching toward the ground. Let them reach the bottom and they trigger flower growth that blocks your movement. Each shot turns a bee into a honeycomb, which acts as an obstacle bees must navigate around. This slows their progress but creates new hazards. A hummingbird circulates to collect honey from these blocks, adding points as it eats. Players must balance clearing honeycombs with fending off the relentless swarm. The game thrives on escalating tension as waves progress. Its 1982 release predates many modern action titles but delivers a frantic, reflex-heavy loop. The interplay between offensive and defensive tactics feels sharp for its era, offering a chaotic twist on classic arcade mechanics.
