Cosmic Avenger is a fast-paced side-scrolling shooter where your goal is to blast through waves of enemies for maximum points. You control a ship that moves side to side at the bottom of the screen as waves of aliens descend. The longer you survive the higher your score climbs. A two-player mode lets friends team up for competitive high score battles. Simple controls and relentless action make it a quick play session. Released in late 1981 this title arrived during the golden age of arcade shooters. The multiplayer option was rare back then and offered a way for two players to compete directly. ColecoVision owners could bring the action home but the arcade version had sharper visuals and more responsive controls. No story or complicated mechanics just straightforward reflexes and precision. It remains a nostalgic pick for players who miss the raw simplicity of early 80s arcade design.
